Chris was happily planning his wedding to Pamela in April 2001 when her diagnosis of ovarian cancer hit them like a ton of bricks. After postponing their wedding so she could undergo chemotherapy, Pamela & Chris were married in November of '01 and Chris thought they would simply put this diagnosis behind them. They both soon realized it wasn't so easy. Both Pamela and Chris began a journey together and separately in their new life as cancer survivors, she as a volunteer with Woman to Woman and Chris on his own journey to try to gain insight and understanding about the effect on men when their partners are diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Over these past 10 years, Chris has also had to adjust to a new reality post-cancer and to learn to live with the constant vigilance and worry about whether the cancer will come back. Chris helped craft the Men's Guide to Ovarian Cancer and co-hosted along with his wife a Mount Sinai event on "Sexuality for Couples After Gynecologic Cancer."

Joanna was diagnosed at age 36 with ovarian cancer shortly after the birth of her child in 2009. She was overwhelmed, scared and shocked at what should have been the happiest time in her life. Joanna and her husband Jose needed to continue working throughout Joanna's treatment so they could keep their healthcare insurance, so Joanna's sister came from Europe to take care of the new baby. Joanna immediately embraced the Woman to Woman program and relied on her volunteer partner for support and advice. Two years after completing treatment, Joanna and Jose remain connected to Woman to Woman and credit the program with helping them both through the emotional roller coaster of Joanna's ovarian cancer diagnosis.

Robin was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2002 at the age of 45 and has been a Woman to Woman volunteer since 2005. The Woman to Woman program has played such an important part in her emotional healing from ovarian cancer by helping patients through their cancer journey as well as giving Robin a greater purpose in live. Any illness can be a very isolating experience and it is privilege to help other woman know that they are not alone in this journey. Jill was diagnosed in 2009 with cervical cancer and was paired with Robin in the Woman to Woman program. During her chemotherapy and radiation, Robin was by Jill's side. Robin and Jill have had a long and very close relationship despite their different diagnoses and can speak to the power of the Woman to Woman program in helping all gynecologic cancer survivors.
